A view of how it looks in the collectors home.

About this piece:
“Ara and Tamar were interested in buying one of my photographic art works to be the centerpiece of their new home. They recently started buying as young collectors and were now ready to buy something masterful.
I sat down for an initial consult and offered suggestions based on their requests to use predominantly crimson colors. This was going to be a collaboration of artist and buyer and I went down a check list of appropriate theme choices, size options, color schemes etc. I also offered them the ability to see up to 8 versions of the final piece.
They ended up picking the 8th and final version as their favorite.
The beauty about this whole procedure is that they ended up purchasing a piece they truly loved, minus the art world hype from over zealous dealers (glorified middlemen). Also, if this piece was sold, from say…the Gagosian Gallery in Beverly Hills, the cost would be 10X as much.
Important to note:
I have hosted 2 large solo shows of my art in Soho, NY (back in the 90′s) and twice in Los Angeles (recent).
I know what is involved in making art, curating it and also selling it.
In this way, I can seamlessly function as both artist and dealer.
If I were a drug addicted heroin junkie this would absolutely not work!
However, since I am a prolific artist (who often knows more than art dealers themselves) and used to dealing with high end clients, it’s only natural that I make and sell my own work.
I create.
You decide.”
